Life Is What You Make It

(Long pause)

“It’s supposed to be the first thing that comes to mind…”

“Okay *laughs* the problem is nothing is coming to mind, um, or everything maybe. I think probably the biggest or the first piece of advice I would give to anybody is that the life that they want for themselves is something that they have to make. They can’t expect anybody to create that for them. So, for example, there are a lot of people in certain classes that are friends of mine and they don’t really enjoy their professor, but there’s still something that they can get out of that. It’s really what you put into it. Whether it’s a job or it’s a relationship or anything, you get out what you put in. So, if you’re not getting something out of it, don’t blame the person in the relationship, or the professor, or the system, or the government or whoever else. You always get out what you put in.”
